At this point, content editing should be complete, and I check the text of the manuscript for errors, including typographical errors and problems with typesetting specifications and page makeup.

This is also the stage where we look at formatting and layout for print and e-publishing.

I address:

  • Typos and spelling errors
  • Grammar and punctuation errors
  • Missing or repeated words
  • Basic syntax issues that affect clarity
  • Incorrect word usage (homophones, agreement errors, etc.)
  • Formatting inconsistencies (spacing, italics, capitalization, quotation marks)
  • Obvious continuity slips (character names, repeated lines, numbering issues)

I use your style sheet and The Chicago Manual of Style for consistency.

Feedback is presented in:

  1. Direct edits to manuscript:

    These edits are made directly in the manuscript with track changes, allowing you to review each decision and approve them on review. Queries may appear in margins or through email when any clarification is needed.

  2. Email communication:

    This gives the author the time to review changes, discuss feedback, and ask any questions they may have about the final product.

Quotes are in USD.

A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking.

Payment plans are available.

Step One: Inquiry & Sample
Fill out the inquiry form with details about your manuscript and the type of edit you’re looking for. If you’re booking a line or copy edit, I’ll provide a sample edit so you can see how I work.

Step Two: Proposal & Booking
You’ll receive a project quote, timeline, and contract. Once you’re ready to move forward, a deposit secures your spot in my calendar.

Step Three: Editing & Delivery
You send your manuscript. I complete the edit and deliver your materials, along with a summary and optional follow-up to walk through any questions.
